Data point: 2017 mortgage market activity and trends
This is the first in an annual series of data points describing mortgage market activity over time based on data reported under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). It summarizes the 2017 HMDA data and recent trends in mortgage and housing markets.
Accompanying this data point is a downloadable file of tables that appear in the report and six additional tables that provide origination and application results by month and year. The tables were updated on Sept. 7, 2018, to make the loan amounts consistent with the annual data.
